זני אנונה - Annona varieties

אל-בומפו - Cherimoya El Bumpo

The Annona cherimola "El Bumpo" plant is a small tropical tree native to Latin America (Ecuador and Peru) and already cultivated by the Inca peoples in the Andean highlands. It can reach about 7 meters in height. It produces fruits 7-12 cm long, with thin green skin and white, buttery pulp, with a sugary taste, similar to that of pineapple and banana. The fruits ripen quickly in early autumn and after harvesting they must be eaten within a few days.

In the kitchen they are used for the preparation of ice creams, sorbets, jams and desserts. Keep the soil moist avoiding waterlogging. Use a soft and draining soil, use a universal soil in the pot. Administer granular fertilizer in the spring-summer period.
