In Malaysia, MLS is released as J33 jackfruit variety and is also known in that country as variety Sultan, Emperor or the father of all jackfruits. From Malaysia this variety was introduced and widely commercialized in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and others.

The J33 is one of the most popular Malaysian Jackfruit varieties also called the Honey Jackfruit or Nangka Madu J33.

J33 is most popular in Southeast Asia due to its firm sweet arils, low latex and rag and delicious flavour.
